Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park is pleased to announce that Mr. Chad Shipman has accepted the position as Golf Course Superintendent for the 18-hole golf course and new 14-acre practice facility at Squaw Creek. Chad was recently the Assistant Superintendent for the past 14 years at Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth.
Chad grew up in Glen Rose and attended Tarleton State University where he achieved a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Management with emphasis in Golf Course Management. He has worked at Squaw Valley Golf Course, Texas Star Golf Course, Northgate Country Club, and Shady Oaks Country Club. In addition, Chad has spent the last two years as a consultant with Nike Golf at The Oven on Chapel Creek, where he assisted Nike with its golf complex.
Chad has hosted several USGA and TGA events, along with men and women’s open qualifiers. He has a wife, Jennifer, and twin 9-year-old boys.
Chad is excited about the future of Squaw Creek as the course is currently undergoing a complete 18-hole renovation. His goal is make Squaw Creek the most exciting course to play in north Texas.
